Through the Heart

"In the inquiry, every detail is relevant. You never know where you will find meaning in the minutia that illuminates the whole." This is a tenet of Victimology, the study of a victim and the discovery of who he or she was before a crime occurred. It's also the focus of Through the Heart, in which two lovers recall the progression of a passionate affair that ends with a chilling murder.

Nora and Timothy have lives that are worlds apart. Nora works in a coffee shop and lives paycheck to paycheck in a small Kansas town. Timothy lives in Manhattan, responsible for no one and nothing except managing his family's millions. When these two meet, it seems like the beginning of a fairy tale -- except that most fairy tale romances don't include a dead body. As Nora and Timothy take turns telling their side of the story, the reader is left with questions of love, fidelity, filial responsibility and the role of fate.
