Climbing Colorado's 14ers has become a favorite activity of locals as well as climbers from all over North America. In fact, more than half a million climbers attempt at least one Colorado 14er
per year.
Most of these routes are moderate hikes to high-altitude summits that are often subject to significant wind and weather during the climbing season from late June through most of September. Some
of these routes require mountaineering skills, but in the winter, they all require winter mountaineering skills.
