Croatian mechanical engineer financed and built the 65-foot steel ketch Cigra then, with a valiant crew, sailed down the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic, up between North America and Greenland to thread through the Northwest Passage above Canada and Alaska, and through the Bering Strait to the Pacific.
