Heragu updates his textbook on designing a manufacturing or service company’s facility to best serve the company, its employees, and its customers. For this fourth edition he has replaced outdated material with current material and includes case studies on layout, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, and materials handing in each chapter. He also includes new design software and introduces several new material-handling equipment and systems. Early chapters can serve a one-semester undergraduate course, he says, and adding the more advanced chapters makes the textbook suitable for a graduate course.
